
A fire that broke out of unknown cause on the bow of a Piraeus-registered tanker at the Samos anchorage in the Kokkari maritime area of Samos has been completely extinguished.
According to the first information, the tanker was unloading fuel oil at a tank farm. The ship’s 17 crew members (5 Greeks, 1 Romanians and 11 Filipinos) are healthy, however one crew member had a panic attack and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
At the scene, under the coordination of the Unified Search and Rescue Center, four fire service vehicles, a boat and a port corps rescuer left.
