
In connection with the introduction of temporary traffic rules in its center Athens thanks to the work within the framework of the project “Improvement of the territory of the Theater Square” Police.
In particular, from 02/13/2023 to 02/13/2024 and around the clock, the following traffic rules will apply:
PHASE 1
- Complete occupation of the pavement of Menandrou Street, from the intersection with Sophocleous Street to the intersection with Euripidou Street.
- Vehicle traffic will be carried out along Sofokleous street, Sapphos on the left, Korinis on the right, Pl. Eleftherias towards Evripidou street.
- Prohibition of stopping and parking on one or both sides on all roads that are part of bypasses, based on the remaining free traffic width, where in no case can it be less than 3.50 m for one-way streets and 6.00 m .for double.
- Two-way traffic on Sapfus Street, in the section from Korinis Street to Menandrou Street, with a parallel parking ban (full or partial).
- One-lane Dilari street, in the section between Teatrou and Euripidou streets, with this direction of traffic, with a parallel parking ban.
- Interruption of traffic on the square. Theater and part of the Teatru Street.
- Car traffic will be carried out along Diplari Street, to the left of Euripides, and then in the direction of Athena and Sophocleous Streets.
PHASE 2
- The total occupancy of the road surface sq. Theater and Teatrou street, from the intersection with Menandrou street to the intersection with Socratous street.
- Complete occupation of the pavement of Diplari Street from the intersection with Teatrou Street to the intersection with Euripidou Street.
- Traffic on Menandrou and Sapfus streets will return to the situation that existed before Phase 1. Traffic will be on Menandros and Euripides streets.
- Prohibition of stopping and parking on one or both sides on all roads that are part of bypasses, based on the remaining free traffic width, where in no case can it be less than 3.50 m for one-way streets and 6.00 m .for double.
STAGE 3
- The total occupancy of the road surface sq. Teatrou and Teatru Street, from the intersection with Menandrou Street to the intersection with Diplari Street.
- Complete occupation of the pavement of Sokratous Street from the intersection with Sofokleous Street to the intersection with Theater Street.
- Traffic on Theateru Street, between Sokratous and Dilary Streets, will return to pre-stage 1 and 2 traffic, while Dilary Street will remain one-way (Stage 1).
- U-turn of Socratous Street in the section from Theateru and Euripidou Streets (from Euripidou to Theateru) with a simultaneous ban on parking to serve the underground parking.
- Prohibition of stopping and parking on one or both sides on all roads that are part of bypasses, based on the remaining free traffic width, where in no case can it be less than 3.50 m for one-way streets and 6.00 m .for double.
STEP 4
- Complete occupation of the pavement of Socratous Street, from the intersection with Teatrou Street to the intersection with Euripidou Street.
- The total occupancy of the road surface sq. Teatrou and Teatru Street, from the intersection with Menandrou Street to the intersection with Diplari Street.
- Traffic from Socratous Street will turn right onto Sophocleous Street and through Menandrou Street will enter Euripidou Street.
- Vehicle traffic on the section of Sokratous Street from Sofokleous Street to Theateru Street will only serve the underground parking, and the exit will be from Theateru Street and through Diplari Street (one-way 1st stage road remains) ending at Euripidou Street. For this reason, parking is prohibited.
- Prohibition of stopping and parking on one or both sides on all roads that are part of bypasses, based on the remaining free traffic width, where in no case can it be less than 3.50 m for one-way streets and 6.00 m .for double.
Drivers of vehicles are asked to take extra care when driving through work sites and observe existing road markings.
