Rooney misses final with Sinner at ATP Montpellier

The American Cressy won the first set 7-5 and the next two were decided by tie-breaks, the student Muratoglu won 7-3, but lost the next 4-7.

It ended 7-5, 6-7, 7-6 after two hours and 36 minutes of play.

In the other semi-final, Darren Cahill’s apprentice Yannick Sinner won in straight sets after an hour and 35 minutes of play, 7-5, 6-2, over ATP No. 163 Arthur Fils of France.

The final of the tournament in Montpellier will take place on Sunday between the second-ranked favorites Italian Sinner (17 ATP) and American Cressy (51 ATP).

The Open Sud de France 2023 (ATP Montpellier) will take place from 6 to 12 February 2023 on indoor hard and is part of the ATP 250 category with a total prize pool of €500,000. The title champion of the tournament (2022) is Oleksandr Bublyk.
