The Russian Embassy in Bucharest reports that on February 9, it hosted “a reception on the occasion of the Day of the Russian Diplomat, which was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, the Parliament of Romania, a number of state institutions, business circles, mass media, people of public organizations, scientists and cultural figures, and also compatriots.”
“The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Romania Valery Kuzmin addressed the audience with a welcoming speech,” and “in the hall in Donbas, photo exhibitions dedicated to Russia’s Special Military Operation in Ukraine (OSV), the humanitarian mission of Russia, the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, as well as 210 – the anniversary of the Victory in the Patriotic War”.
The message of the Russian Embassy in Romania was accompanied by numerous photos from the event, and among the guests we can note ex-Senator of the AUR Diana Shoshoake. This is not the first time that the Russian Embassy has participated in events since Russia started the war in Ukraine.
In November 2022, the Russian ambassador to Bucharest, Valery Kuzmin, celebrated the Day of National Unity of Russia with many famous figures from Romania, such as Senator Diana Soshoake, former MEP Adrian Severin and “more than 20 members of the diplomatic corps” from friendly countries.
The Russian ambassador in Bucharest: “The West wants Moldova to follow Ukraine’s example. What is the fate of Ukraine, you see”
Russia’s ambassador to Bucharest, Valery Kuzmin, claims that the statements of his boss, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, regarding the Republic of Moldova were misinterpreted, and blames Poland. Lavrov claims that Moscow would not want to threaten Chisinau, but on the contrary, would like to draw attention to the fact that the West is using the Republic of Moldova, as it would use Ukraine.
“You can see for yourself what the fate of Ukraine is,” said Ambassador Valery Kuzmin.
Kuzmin stated that Poland distorted the content of Sergei Lavrov’s comments in an interview with the Russian TV channel “Russia 24”, but basically repeated Moscow’s threats against Chisinau.
He supported Moscow’s propaganda that Ukraine would be “sacrificed on the altar of NATO” and the result would be a massive depopulation of the country, so that the former Soviet republic was now a “relatively small country”.
“We are not looking for any escalation. Escalation is the motto of the western side, if you look at their actions. And if you can object to me, I would be interested to hear,” the Russian diplomat also said.
