The “object”, which a spokesman said was “the size of a small car” and flying at an altitude of about 12,000 metres, was “a threat to air traffic safety”, said John Kirby, a spokesman for the council. White House security.

He clarified that this object was “much smaller” than the Chinese balloon, which the United States destroyed last Saturday and which, according to Washington, was conducting espionage operations.

The American administration “last night” learned about the presence of this object, the remains of which fell into the frozen water, and will try to restore them, said John Kirby.

“We don’t know who owns this object,” he insisted, and, for example, the state or a private owner.
