For some time now, Porsche has made a specialty of its prototype teasers, announcing the arrival of a new model. We recently had the 100% electric Porsche Macan, here we are now photo of tests of the restyled Porsche Cayenne which is to be presented next April.

For Porsche, it would seem, this Cayenne is little more than a simple restyling. It seems to be advertised as a new model, even if it takes over the basics of the current version, with a lot of new features in the program. The manufacturer claims that the prototypes have been tested for at least four million kilometers and in any environmental conditions.

Restyled Porsche Cayenne: what’s new in the program?

The German SUV is in the final stages of testing after going through the dunes of Morocco, the off-roads of Spain, American highways and the extreme cold of Northern Europe.

Among the most important innovations will be a new air suspension system, which, according to the brand, will further enhance the feeling of comfort and sportiness depending on the driving mode. Overall, the chassis has been completely revised with the aim of offering a driving experience that is truly different from that of the model we know today.

The new LED matrix headlights consist of 32,000 pixels that can be switched on and off individually to better illuminate the road and not dazzle other cars. In addition, on board the restyled Cayenne will receive a curved 12.6-inch instrument panel and a 12.3-inch screen of the infotainment system, similar to the one used on the 911 and Taycan. An additional 10.9-inch screen will be available as an option for the passenger.

Restyled Porsche Cayenne: even more powerful?

Porsche has not specified whether new engines will be added or whether current engines will be developed. According to the first rumors, the restyled Cayenne will receive, depending on the version, several additional horses. Thus, the power of the “base” model and its 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 will increase from 340 to 360 hp. with a torque of 500 Nm.

The Cayenne S can also replace its 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with a 480-hp 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. and 600 Nm of torque. Finally, the Cayenne Turbo GT should be updated, but only in the coupe, and should increase from 640 to 660 hp.

Cayenne hybrids will be equipped with a larger battery of 25.9 kWh (compared to 17.9 kWh previously). The power of the Turbo S E-Hybrid version should be the same as that of the Panamera of the same name, and be around 700 hp. The electric range would be about 80 km, almost twice as much as the current model.

As for the 100% electric version, it will not be in this generation yet. The electric Cayenne could be introduced by 2025 or even 2026 and will be based on the new Volkswagen Group PPE platform, which is currently being developed by Porsche and Audi.
