The future of BMW has a name that we have known for a long time: New class. The new platform will debut in 2025 and will be the basis for all future models of the Bavarian manufacturer. This new architecture will be a real revolution for the brand, which is preparing to evolve both in style and in terms of technology.

The first model of this “new era” should be a sedan related to the 3 series or directly new electric BMW 3 series.

A new identity

The inspiration for the creation of the first Neue Klasse sedan was the i Vision Dee concept car presented at CES in Las Vegas last January. Although futuristic, the prototype is equipped with several technologies that should be democratized in the coming years.

In recent years, BMW has experimented with different styles, with the more traditional 3 and 5 series models, the less consensus 4 series, or even very controversial models like the new BMW 7 series or the XM. The first BMW Neue Klasse should benefit from an innovative front end, with thin LED optics built directly into the grille.

The lines should be rougher, with lots of angles, although aerodynamics will play an important role thanks to active aerodynamic components that best combine battery cooling and air penetration.

Minimalism and recycling

As in the Vision Dee concept, the interior should be simplified in its functions. While BMW is unlikely to ditch the dashboard and infotainment screens entirely, voice and gesture commands are likely to be improved to minimize driving distractions.

In addition, BMW should increase its commitment to recycled materials using more sustainable and environmentally friendly elements.

Power reserve up to 1000 km?

The new batteries developed by BMW are expected to have 30% higher energy density and 50% lower production costs than current models, as well as power from 75 kWh to 150 kWh.
