
The first teaser trailer for the long-awaited series “Big hopes(“Great Expectations”) in the making Stephen Knight (“Peaky Blinders”), the production that has just been released and from the very first frames looks impressive.
The project is a television adaptation of Charles Dickens’ 1861 novel of the same name, produced by the FX and BBC networks. In the one-minute clip, we see a visually unrecognizable Olivia Colman as Miss Havisham and Fionn Whitehead as Pip, with Tom Sweet portraying Pip at a young age.
Miss Havisham meets young Pip when he first arrives at her mansion. “What a creature we found,” she says with an enigmatic smile.
The coming-of-age story follows Pip, an orphan dreaming of the best, until fate introduces him to the enigmatic and eccentric Miss Havisham and little Estella (Salom Bran-Franklin), who introduce him to the dark world. Given the high expectations placed on him, Pip must pay the costs of this new world and strive to become the man of his dreams.

In addition to writing, Knight is also producing the series along with Tom Hardy (A Christmas Carol, Inception), Ridley Scott (The Martian, Blade Runner), Dean Baker (Taboo). , “Trophy”), David Zucker (“The Good Fight”, “The Man in the High Castle” and others.
The mini-series is expected to premiere in the spring on BBC One and iPlayer, and in the US it will be shown on the Hulu platform. It will be available internationally on the Star+ streaming service and later on Disney+.
