Alpine Electronicsa Japanese company for electronic equipment and audio and multimedia systems for the car, presented the concept of an equipped van called Cabin Alpine Cross. This one was shown at the recent CMT 2023 Auto Show in Stuttgart designed for remote work. Indeed, the home office is now part of everyday life for millions of workers, both employed and self-employed.

This practice, which has been popularized by isolation wards since 2020, has become a global and inevitable trend, and has also been adopted by “digital nomads” in equipped vans. Here’s how Alpine Electronics researched to create the perfect mobile telecommuting work environment with a vehicle specifically designed for the purpose.

Alpine Cross Cabin: a mobile and intelligent office

Based on the 6.70 meter long Ford Transit, the Alpine Cross Cabin features a minimalist interior decoration. It consists of wooden wall panels with rounded curves that allow them to act as acoustic panels for quiet work, and create two longitudinal benches.

The centerpiece of the Alpine Cross Cabin is “Smart table” : hidden in the floor when not in use, it can be transformed to serve as a large or long table, for work meetings or simply for eating. In the expanded form, a opens 32 inch screen as well as a keyboard that allows you to connect a laptop to it and work comfortably behind it. This space can be transformed at night into a double bed 140×200 cm.

Cabin Alpine Cross: full equipment

The front of the car also offers a variety of arrangements: there are two swivel seats, a small table as well kitchen set which can be used outdoors thanks to an ingenious 90° swivel bracket.
