
Low temperatures and frost create problems in areas of Central Greece.
In the mountain villages of the municipality of Dirfion Messapia on the island of Evia, there are problems with electricity, as the snow there has reached a meter.
Schools and general educational institutions in Evia and Phthiotis remain closed today, while schools also remain closed in parts of Boeotia and Phokis by decision of the local mayors.
The ban on the movement of heavy vehicles is valid on the national network, as well as on the roads of Boeotia and Evia.
According to the relevant statement of the General Regional Police Directorate of Central Greece, heavy vehicles over 3.5 tons are prohibited from driving on the following roads, with the exception of the national network:
- On the national road New Schimatari-Chalkis from 0.000 to 11.000 km/h.
- in P.E.O. Elefsina – Thebes, from the 30,000th to the 34,000th month in both traffic flows,
- in E.O. Neohorakiou – Phyllis, from the 4th to the 24th month and
- in E.O. Elefsinas – Oinois Schimatario, from the 7th to the 25th month.
In addition, chains on the roads are necessary in Boeotia:
- on the road Arahovas – Eptalofou, from 12th street to the ski center Parnassus,
- in the area of Odos Analipsios – Helikon – Kyriakiou,
- in the area of Odos Kyriakiou – Ag. Anna and
- on the Episcopal road Agia Triada – Agia Anna.
- on the national road Old Elefsina-Thebes from the 30th to the 42nd month.
In Evia, the ban on the movement of heavy vehicles also applies on the roads.
- from Chalkis to PATh.E. and especially from the 2nd century ring road from Chalkis to E.o. Schimatariou-Chalkis/Highway A-11 (High Bridge of Chalkis)
- D.E. Avlidos in P.A.T.E., through e.o. Schimatariou-Chalcis/Highway A-11
- from Chalkis to PATh.E. and especially from the 1st PEO of Chalkis-Thebes (crossroad of Drosia)
- D.E. Avlidos in PATH.E. via PEO Chalkis-Thebes.
From early morning, a traffic ban was introduced for all vehicles in e.o. Chalkidas-Edipsos, from 16 h/h (Kastella, Dirfon Messapion municipality) to 47 h/h (Prokopi, Mantoudi-Limni-Agia Anna municipality) in both traffic flows.
In Phthiotis the roads remained open, but in Eurytania chains are needed on the roads:
- on the Karpenisi-Lamia Old National Road, from 8 am to 12 pm. (Position of Raches Timfristos)
- on the road Karpenisiou – Furna, from the 12th to the 22nd day of the month (Vrachos location),
- on the road Furna – Karditsa, from 50th to 60th street (Zakharakis’s location),
- on the road Karpenisiou – Krikeliou – Domnistas, from the 12th to the 25th day of the month,
- on Karpenisiou Street – Ski Center, from the 3rd to the 15th day of the month,
- on the Karpenisio-Prussu-Agrini road, from 30th to 45th street (Arapokefala area),
- on Karpenisiou-Stenoma street, from the 2nd to the 17th day of the month and
- on Karpenisiou-Fidakia street, from 7th to 25th street.
Finally, in Phokis, chains on the roads are necessary
- on Eptalofou street – Arahovas, from 0 to 19 of the month and
- from Ep.Odos Polydrossos 4th Street to the Parnassus Snow Center.
