
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with President of the European People’s Party (EPP) Manfred Weber at Maximos Palace.
During the meeting, they discussed the security situation in the eastern Mediterranean, as well as migration flows to Europe. They also analyzed the latest developments on the Ukrainian front and discussed the upcoming EU summit in Brussels.
Earlier, Manfred Weber visited the temporary reception of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum in Schistos.
In his post, Mr. Weber said he thanked Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for Greece’s work in protecting Europe’s outer borders.
“Today in Athens, I thanked Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for Greece’s work in protecting Europe’s outer borders. The Greek government has restored order despite the complexity and magnitude of the migration problem. The European Council this week is an opportunity to make progress,” the President of the EPP said in his post.
