In recent years, many Chinese manufacturers have landed in Europe Weltmeister, which means “world champion” in German, is the latest new Asian hero on the Old Continent. Weltmeister EX5: universal style

At 4.59 meters long, 1.8 meters wide and 1.67 meters high, and all this with a wheelbase of 2.70 meters, the Weltmeister EX5 is a compact SUV with rather restrained lines, far from the splendor of modern Western car design.

The model offered a slight facelift compared to the version sold in China, with redesigned fenders and some design cues such as flush door handles and a light signature that runs across the width of the rear.

Weltmeister EX5: 218 electric horsepower

The interior is more modern and spacious 15.6-inch vertical touch screen located in the center of the dashboard, adjustable and completed by a center console equipped with direct access touch controls. In front of the driver, another large screen acts as a digital dashboard. On the side of the trunk, the cargo volume of 488 liters can increase to 1,500 liters if the seats are folded down.

Under the hood is an electric motorization 218 horsepower and 225 Nm of torquein combination with a lithium-ion battery capacity 52.5 kW/hwhich makes it possible to offer autonomy to 403 km according to the NEDC cycle, much more optimistic than the current WLTP. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 8.5 seconds, and it takes about half an hour to restore 80% autonomy thanks to a fast DC charger.

Weltmeister EX5: expensive prices

According to the latest information, the Weltmeister EX5 will sell for around 49,000 euros. For comparison, now in our region Tesla Model Y is offered from 46,990 euros. For this price, the EX5 is equipped with a number of technologies, such as a 360 ° camera, a facial recognition camera in the cabin or an advanced air purification system.

The first deliveries are scheduled for a month March 2023 in Spain, where the Chinese firm will not have its own sales points, but will rely on agreements concluded with a network of multi-brand distributors. Weltmeister has yet to officially confirm a possible launch in France.
