Lin Zhu, Thailand Open champion – Will enter the WTA TOP-50

In Sunday’s grand final, Zhu beat Lesya Tsurenko (Ukraine – 136 WTA), score 6-4, 6-4. The match lasted an hour and 45 minutes.

A win in Thailand will propel Lin Zhu to the top of the world TOP-50 for the first time, and next week she will find herself at number 41 (a jump of 13 places in the world rankings).

On the other hand, Lesya Tsurenko will also register an important jump in the WTA ranking: she will be on the 100th place (up 36 positions).

Thailand Open was held from January 30 to February 5 on hard. She had a total prize money of $259,303 and was part of the WTA 250 category.
