
A 31-year-old citizen was arrested on Wednesday afternoon (1/2) in Ano Liosia by members of the Police Department of the Papago Cholargos Security Department of the Attica Security Directorate on charges of theft from the premises of a public hospital by profession and by extension, computer fraud followed by suspension from driving.
In particular, the aforementioned police officers, who were investigating cases of theft from public hospitals, discovered the criminal activity of a 31-year-old man and noticed him driving a car in the Ano Liosia area without a driver’s license.
An investigation revealed that the 31-year-old used his car to drive to public hospitals on duty in Attica in the afternoon or early morning with the intent to commit theft.
Taking advantage of the attendance of citizens to provide medical assistance and the mobility of doctors, he quietly entered the offices and rooms for rest and meetings of medical and nursing staff.
When the staff was absent from the above premises, they broke into doors, cupboards and cupboards, after which they took money, valuables, mobile phones and bank cards.
He then bought groceries directly and filled his car with contactless transactions using stolen bank cards.
During the preliminary investigation, 10 cases of theft from hospitals in Attica were solved, including two cases of theft of personal belongings from patients’ rooms.
In addition, the car in which he traveled was confiscated.
It is reported that the 31-year-old man had previously been arrested for similar offenses. The detainee has been taken to the Athenian Criminal Prosecutor’s Office, and investigations into your involvement in other cases are ongoing.
