An 87-year-old woman in Marousi was the victim of a scam on Wednesday morning (1/2) when she received a phone call and heard a female voice saying “mom, mom.”
Immediately after that, the scammers called the elderly woman again and, posing as doctors, asked her for money for the “operation” of her “daughter”.
According to ERT, the elderly woman was convinced of what she had heard and collected all the money, jewelry and pounds that she had at home, put them in a bag and waited for an accomplice of scammers to deliver them.
As the scammers told her, an 87-year-old woman threw a bag with money, pounds and jewelry from the balcony of her house.
When the woman realized that she had been a victim of a scam, she filed a complaint with the security department in Marusi and, as she told the police, the scammers took 3,000 euros, 30 gold pounds and all her jewelry.
