United Nations to find common ground in order to resume negotiations,” Ms. Sakellaropoulou said, addressing the President of Cyprus. “There are still issues that you have not been able to solve, and we have not been able to solve, first of all, the great national wound of the Cyprus problem” , the Prime Minister noted, reiterating that the overall goal is “to achieve a just, sustainable and functional solution to the Cyprus problem.”

For his part, Mr. Anastasiades stressed, among other things, that “thanks to the impeccable, close and methodical diplomatic efforts made by the two countries, we have at least reached the UN resolutions that create a shield for the defense of the Republic of Cyprus”, adding that “joint efforts within the EU” is also important. so that “any solution, in addition to being functional and therefore sustainable, is also fully compliant with European legislation.” And he added that this is “what will contribute to the establishment of peace, as well as the progress of the entire Cypriot people, Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots.”

“I feel very excited because today I am given the opportunity to get a general idea of how symbolic, but also important, the contribution of the Republic of Cyprus is as a minimal element of solidarity with Greek Hellenism, which supported us so much in critical hours.” , Mr. Anastasiadis said, adding that in order to use the 10 million euros deposited by Cyprus in a special fund, there is “perfect and excellent cooperation” with the Greek government.
