In May 2017, our reader Pascal B. from Floirac (33) signed a lease agreement with Leasys, a subsidiary of the group fiat. The object of this contract is a Fiat 500 X 1.4 MultiAir 140 novelty. This contract, which expires at the beginning of last summer, our reader decides to pay the financing organization a buyout amount.

Thus, he becomes the official owner of his small SUV. Unfortunately, in a month 500 X breaks and must be towed to a dealer. After the review, the latter concludes with a turbine failure resulting in much more serious and expensive engine damage.

Giving up on Fiat? Ordinary!

Indeed, when he learned the repair estimate, Pascal could not believe his eyes: it is asking €9,569 put the car in working condition. Of course, he has absolutely no intention of paying such an amount and therefore asks the representative of the brand to demand payment.

The answer is as unexpected as the failure itself. Indeed, Fiat believes that since the maintenance and extended warranty contracts have expired, Pascal should pay all the repair costs. THE The 500 X only shows 63,600 km our reader is impressed, but not ready to give up.

Our defense strategy

As several of our previous surveys have shown, fiat is the slowest constructor when it comes to supporting early failures.

Including, as in the case of 500X Pascal, when the file is related to the car, it is always in perfect condition. However, Pascal must not give up.

Indeed, the scope of our experts suggests that, given the age and mileage of his SUV, it is worth the wait 85% bet on turbo and with 100% on the engine.
