
By a regulation included in the amendment of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, unconditionally extends for one year (until February 29, 2024) the insurance capacity of long-term unemployed and uninsured older people in the context of a provision that is permanently adopted for vulnerable social groups so that they have access to health care.
With the same arrangement, the insurance capacity is extended in the same way for one year. employees special categories and members of their families.
The regulation includes:
- Workers who continued to suffer the effects of the coronavirus pandemic and received targeted compensation during 2022.
- Businesses and employers that maintain a business or operate in areas affected by natural disasters or other natural disasters.
- Former professionals who have closed their books remain unemployed and uninsured and have paid off all debt.
- Guides who, although they paid insurance premiums, did not pass electronic EFKA application of the Analytical Periodic Declaration (APD) and therefore their insurance days are not displayed in the system.
- Workers at the Scaramanga and Elefsina shipyards and in the repair area of the Perama shipyard.
What will apply to the unemployed?
In addition, as stated in the message of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the special agreement that applied in 2022 for the self-employed (self-employed, farmers, self-employed) is being updated to streamline their finances and be able to renew their insurance capacity without any problems.
In particular, the self-employed, as an exception, are granted insurance legal capacity until May 31, 2023, regardless of the presence of debts to insurance funds. However, they are requested to pay an amount corresponding to the annual premiums of the health sector of their chosen class of insurance in order to extend their insurance capacity until February 29, 2024.
In other words, if a self-employed person pays an amount corresponding to the annual health care contribution retrospectively for 2022, his insurance capacity will be extended until February 29, 2024, even if he has other insurance debts.
