
Suspended for doping, Simona Halep was not allowed to participate in the Australian Open 2023. The former world leader received a message from the legendary Chris Evert just two days after completing the first Grand Slam of the season.

The Romanian is temporarily suspended from tennis due to a positive test for Roxadustat (conducted during the US Open 2022).
On his personal Twitter account, Chris Evert says he is thinking of Simona Halep and hopes she is doing well. Also, the ex-leader of the WTA says that he is looking forward to the speedy resolution of the situation in which Simona is involved in the doping case.

Simona’s case will be heard by Sports Resolution, an independent court in London that hears doping cases in white sport.
However, if innocence cannot be proven, Simone has one more appeal: the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne.
It will be recalled that the maximum suspension that Halep could receive is 4 years.
