On Sunday, the final of the World Cup will take place, the fifth in the major competition, between Denmark and France, the holders of the world and Olympic titles, respectively, News.ro reports.
In the semi-finals, identical to the 2011 and 2021 matches, Denmark vs. Spain 26-23 and France vs. Sweden 31-26.
Regardless of the outcome of the 2023 World Cup final, Denmark will qualify for the Olympic Games in Paris from 2024, while their rivals France will qualify for the final tournament as hosts.
Denmark won the last two World Cups in 2019 and 2021.
Also on Sunday, parties were held to determine the 5th and 7th places.
Germany beat Norway 28-24 (16-13) to take fifth place at the Men’s World Handball Championship.
In contention for the 7th spot, Egypt needed extra time to beat Hungary 36-35.
