“The bet on the elections is that Greece does not lose its Europeanism,” says SYRIZA-PS spokesman Popi Tsapanidou in an interview with Avgi tis Kyriaki, adding: “The citizens of Greece will not leave the Republic until the country has deteriorated even more.”
He also notes: “We will do our best to form a broad progressive government that will eliminate injustice and restore the rule of law.”
With regard to wiretapping, Popi Tsapanidou states that “for the next period, the goal of SYRIZA-PS remains to inform the citizens, a constant reminder of the trauma that Mr. Mitsotakis inflicted on the Hellenic Republic. We have an obligation to encourage all public officials in key positions in the investigations so that they do not suffer bullying from New Democracy MPs, as well as Mr. Mitsotakis himself.”
On economic issues, he echoes the party’s proposals for punctuality: “raising the base salary to 800 euros, reducing VAT on fuel and natural gas, reducing VAT on basic foodstuffs, taxing the excess profits of energy companies. A progressive government with a core of SYRIZA-PS from day one will give citizens breath with significant support measures until the socio-economic policy is fully deployed so that they can breathe easy.”
