“In September, OASTH will receive the first new modern electric buses that will take the Organization, as well as the entire urban transport network, as well as the city of Thessaloniki, into a new era. Kostas Tagiris, President and CEO of OATH, emphasized this morning at the awards ceremony for students – children of the Organization’s employees who entered higher education institutions or distinguished themselves in high school.
Mr Tangiris assured the hundreds of workers attending the event that no jobs were at risk. He also emphasized that OASTH’s role in the implementation of urban transport is not in dispute, as “it is the body that knows the transport project better than anyone.”
“Every day we pass exams to the passenger public. We won’t disappoint. We are one family, together we will fight against problems and be proud to be part of OASTH,” Mr. Tangiris emphasized in his first speech since taking office.
For his part, OASTH union president Yannis Dimkas stressed that workers will continue to “put their backs” on the Organization, as they have done for many years.
The event was also attended by the Mayor of Thessaloniki and OASTH board member Konstantinos Zervas.
The ceremony of awarding students took place in the central hotel of the city.
At the event, in addition to awarding prizes to students, a royal cake was also cut and the crown went to the personnel department, i.e. department that takes care of OASTH workers.
