Parts of the West Australia are now on alert for radioactive materials after the authorities announced that a radioactive capsule used in mining operations was missing. along the way for the state capital of Perth.

The small silver capsule was lost in transit from a mine just north of Newman, a small town in the outlying Kimberley region, in the northeastern suburbs of Perth, according to emergency services.

According to the Western Australian Department of Health, the capsule contains the radioactive substance caesium-137.

She is believed to have fallen out of the truck while being transported to the warehouse.

Health authorities have warned that any contact with this item should be avoided as it may cause burns or illness.

“We are concerned that someone will take her away without knowing what she is dealing with,” said Dr. Andrew Robertson, chief medical officer of Western Australia.

The capsule was lost while being transported by truck from a mine to a storage facility in Perth, state health officials said. Newman is located about 1200 km northeast of Perth.

The truck left on January 12, but the capsule was not reported missing until this week, when emergency services were notified, authorities said.

A spokesman for the fire department said the search for the capsule was primarily conducted in residential areas, but noted that it could take weeks.

He added that authorities were alerted to her disappearance on Wednesday when the company responsible for the capsule realized she was missing.
