The purpose of the 18-hour trip is to strengthen and improve bilateral relations and consolidate cooperation between the two countries. For Greece, Japan provides access to an important country with the third largest economy on the planet, which is also a member of the G7. The visit comes at a time when Japan is seeking rapprochement with NATO and EU. and Greece can be a “bridge” for Japan and with it Eastern Mediterranean as well as with Balkanfocusing on energy. During his visit to Japan, the Prime Minister and his wife will be received by Crown Prince Akihito. The Prime Minister will be accompanied Kyriakos Pierrakakis and Kostas Fragoyannisand at meetings with representatives of Japanese companies he will be accompanied by Business delegation of 20 peopleamong its representatives BSE and his EBEA.

The visit will focus on the investment part, as the prime minister, along with his head of economic management, Alexis Patelis, will present the investment opportunities that are opening up in Greece. OUR Kyriakos Mitsotakis will make two detailed presentations on the Greek economy and answer questions from Japanese investors and businessmen. The first presentation of the prospects for the Greek economy will be made by the Japan Business Federation (KEIDANREN), whose members met with the Prime Minister at Megaros Maximos last October and expressed their interest in the prospects for the Greek economy. The second will take place – in the presence of a business delegation that will accompany the Prime Minister – with the Association of Export Companies JETRO to identify synergies and opportunities for cooperation with Greek companies, as well as with Enterprise Greece.

Mr. Mitsotakis is accompanied by Mr. Pierrakakis and Fragoyannis, as well as a business delegation of 20 people.
