CNAIR canceled and on the same day reopened the tender for the design and execution of the sections of the motorway between Porta Sălajuli and Nușfalău, including the Meseș Tunnel, of the Transylvanian Highway. The decision was made in connection with the increase in prices on the specialized market and the revision of the documentation, says the press release of the CNAIR.

  • “CNAIR canceled the limited tender procedure for the design and execution of the Brasov – Tirgu Mures – Cluj – Oradea motorway, section 3B: Mihăiesti – Suplacu de Barcău, subsection 3B3: Porta Sălajulu – Zalău, km 25+500 – km 40+ 637, including the road tunnel on the profile of the motorway in the area of ​​Meseș and subdivision 3B4: Zalău – Nușfalău, km 40+660 (km 40+637 3B3) – km 66+500 due to the recent price increase in the profile market, for example and also to review the documentation according to the currently introduced legislative changes and the existing reality in this field,” the press release states.

Also, the public procurement procedure was resumed today by uploading rejection documentation to SICAP.

The duration of the design and execution of the contract is 78 months, of which 18 months for the design phase and 60 months for the execution phase.

The contract will be financed from non-refundable European funds through the Operational Transport Program (POT).

This 41 km long facility includes numerous works of art, including 65 viaducts, bridges and overpasses on and over the highway, for a total length of approximately 13 km.

Meses Tunnel has two galleries with 2 lanes in each direction, 2.89 km long.

After the review of the award documents, CNAIR will be able to publish a Notice of Participation related to the design and works contract, which will set the date for submission of proposals.
