CSA Steaua has suspended Maria Boldor’s contract

The athlete’s A test is positive, which was also confirmed by the Romanian Fencing Federation.

The banned substance is called ostarine, and in 2016 Lucian Bute was also found doping with the same substance.

CSA Steaua Bucharest, the club where Maria Boldor works, released a statement in which they decided to temporarily suspend her contract.

“Steaua Army Sports Club took note of the decision of the National Anti-Doping Agency (ANAD) regarding the temporary disqualification of the athlete Beatrice-Maria Boldor-Bogice after the positive result of the A test.

Beatriz-Maria Boldor-Bogice is part of the Romanian Olympic fencing team and is included in the ADAMS program alongside other athletes who have the potential to qualify for the Olympic Games.

According to Article 80 of the Law 310/2021 on the prevention and fight against doping in sports, the temporary suspension of an athlete is mandatory based on a positive result of the A test.

Béatrice-Maria Boldor-Bogice requested that the B sample be tested and measures were taken to suspend all sports training, as well as the sports contract between the two parties, pending the release of the final results.

The Steaua Army Sports Club supports clean, doping-free sports, and for now the final decision of the matter rests with its athlete.” – says the club’s official press release.
