No Confidence Vote: Conflict between Gerapetritis and Tsakalotu for ADAE President

What was mentioned when discussing the vote of no confidence at the expense of the president of ADAE, Christ Rammoson the part of the ND deputies, complained the representative of SYRIZA in parliament, Euclid Tsakalotos.

During the discussion of the vote of no confidence, Mr. Tsakalotos called the Minister of State, George Herapetritis to find out today whether Mr. Rammos’s dismissive characterizations are the ND line and whether they constitute the “dust” of the party.

“We don’t give a damn about our parliamentarians,” the state minister said, noting that the constitution enshrines the free opinion of parliamentarians.

Previously, a member of the ND, Dimitris Markopoulou who called the president of ADAE a “deliverer” and the “5th phalanx” of SYRIZA, as well as MP Thassos Hatzivasileou who said of Mr. Rammos that he “belittles his office and the power he presides over.”

“Were you here when Mr. Markopoulos and Mr. Hatzivassiou were talking?” asked the representative of SYRIZA, addressing the Minister of State who was present. George Herapetritis.

“Basically, they said he was a SYRIZA agent. You are a university professor. I’m asking you directly. Do you think Mr. Rammos is a pawn of SYRIZA? For these things that were said were extreme. Extreme,” said Euclid Tsakalotos, and wondered if these interventions were “an ND line or we have two ND deputies who took the wrong…dust.”

Euclid Tsakalotos also commented on what the government is saying about “dirty nets”: “How does Mrs. Vlahou sign observations over and over again? Was there any information about Mr. Hatzidakis? For Mr. Floros? So don’t tell us we’re attacking Mrs. Vlahow. Tell me, is the criticism of the EMP prosecutor unfair because Mr. Hatsidakis and Mr. Floros really pose a danger to national security?”

“We don’t give our deputies – I don’t know what your practice is – dust,” responded Minister of State Giorgos Gerapetritis and added: “Our deputies have the decency to judge and position themselves. So at this level, don’t equate your internal procedures with what we do with our deputies. How they will judge and how they will evaluate is a matter related to their freedom of expression. Besides, you know, Article 62 of the Constitution guarantees this. So it would be nice if you didn’t want us to shut up the deputies.”

Answering a question about the EMP prosecutor, Mr. Gerapetritis noted that the SYRIZA deputies spoke with great intensity, despite the fact that the EMP prosecutor “is a bailiff, and the bailiffs should be surrounded by confidence in an orderly legal order”. After all, the Minister of State noted, Mr. Tsipras also said he had confidence in the judiciary. “Justice a la carte is not understood. Either you trust justice, or you discredit justice with all the ensuing consequences,” said Gerapetritis.

The Minister of State insisted that SYRIZA explain “how she knew the names of Hatzidakis and Floros.”
