Its sustained lead of 7.5 percentage points N.D. against him SYRIZA in terms of voting intent, as well as its political dominance Mrs Mitsotakis compared to him Al. Tsipras in a number of qualitative characteristics, it represents nationwide poll company “Pulse”, which was held for SKY from 19 to 23 January with a sample of 1205 citizens.
On the issue of attracting centrist voters, which is crucial for shaping the election result, according to convergent estimates, the prime minister is superior to the presidents of both SYRIZA and PASOK. In particular, in response to the question “which political leader best expresses the centrist space”, 29% of respondents name Mr. Mitsotakis, 22% – Mr. Tsipras and 16% – Mr. Androulakis. “None of the three,” answered 25 out of 100 citizens.
In a Pulse poll for SKAI and when asked who you would give “a second chance to rule again”, 39% chose the current prime minister and 32% the president of SYRIZA.
Among the remarkable results of the current study is one that arises in response to the question of which of the two, Mr. Mitsotakis or Al. Tsipras, who has one term as prime minister, would prefer voters to give him a “second chance to rule again”: 39% of respondents seem to be choosing the current prime minister, 32% the current leader of the official opposition, and 22% he replies “neither one nor the other”. At the same time, on the classic question of who is better suited for the post of prime minister, the gap between them is widening, with 38% pointing to Mr. Mitsotakis and 27% to Mr. Tsipras. However, a percentage of 30% answers “neither one nor the other”.
Of particular interest, as the forthcoming elections will be based on a simple proportionality system and public debate dominated by discussions and scenarios of possible forms of cooperation between governments, is also the measurement of public opinion as to whether they want an autonomous or cooperative government. Overall, 42% see the ND as either an independent government (31%) or a body of coalition government (11%). Accordingly, only 30% of the respondents answer in favor of SYRIZA, but here only 12% speak of self-reliance, and 18% want the government to cooperate with SYRIZA as the core. “Grand Coalition”, i.e. with the participation of ND, SYRIZA and others, claims that 9% of the respondents want this.
Finally, in the victorious performance of N.D. SYRIZA (58% versus 23%), while in intent to vote the parties seem to get: 33.5% ND, 26% SYRIZA, 11% PASOK, 6% KKE, 4% Hellenic Solution and 2.5% for MeRA25, a percentage that also seems to have been adopted by the Kasidiaris party.
