The International Automobile Federation has announced that in the new season of Formula 1 all drivers will wear video cameras on their helmets after signing an agreement with Racing Force.

Formula 1 pilots will wear video cameras on their helmets

All 20 drivers involved in the 2023 Formula 1 season will be equipped with mini cameras approved by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).

These mini cameras have a diameter of 8 millimeters and weigh 1.43 grams. They are placed at eye level, on a protective lining inside the helmet, writes News.ro.

They will be officially used for the first time at the Bahrain Grand Prix, the first stage of Formula 1 in 2023, on March 5.

Mini cameras were tested for the first time in Formula 1 in August 2021 by Fernando Alonso at the Belgian Grand Prix.
