The proposals were made by the head of the State Duma Committee on Transport, Yevgen Moskitsev, specifically predicting that people who want to leave Russia “will be able to book the date and time of crossing the border through the state electronic information system.” transport documents”.

“Reserving a certain time for crossing checkpoints is a good practice for managing traffic flows. Pre-registration usually guarantees receiving the service at a certain time and without a long wait,” he wrote on his Telegram channel, a favorite means of communication among Russian officials.

He also informed that the project is designed primarily for the commercial sector, for heavy trucks.

The proposed changes to Russian legislation come after the authorities last week began implementing a single electronic queue reservation system at car checkpoints at Russian customs.
