
Three Algerian soldiers died in the crash of the helicopter they were on during a training mission 200 kilometers southwest of Algiers, according to the North African country’s defense ministry.
A Russian-made Mi-71 military helicopter crashed near the El Ataf training ground in the province of Ain Defla in northern Algeria. According to the Algerian Ministry of Defense, there is a colonel among the three victims.
The Chief of the National Defense General Staff, General Said Sengrikha, ordered an investigation to determine the causes of the accident.
In December 2020, three military personnel died in a helicopter crash in Tipaza province, near Algiers.
