At the end of the match against the home football favourite, Nole said he was happy with the tennis he played and that the medical problem was (at least for now) a thing of the past.

“I can’t say I’m sorry you didn’t see a longer match. I wanted to win in minimal sets. The first games were balanced, then I felt much more free.

I was much more aggressive, and Oleksii became more and more nervous, more tense. Tennis is a fast, dynamic sport, things can change very quickly, but I kept my focus and played the best match of the year” – Novak Djokovicquoted by Eurosport.

Djokovic’s injury is a thing of the past

“The way I played today, it didn’t look like I was suffering from an injury. I didn’t feel anything today. Thanks to my team and everyone who helped me. I don’t want to celebrate how early I got over the medical issues, but I like how I moved today. I hope that I will continue like this,” added Djokovic.
