
Prosecutors in the US state of New Mexico on Thursday charged actor Alec Baldwin and others with the fatal shooting of director Galina Hutchins on the set of the western “Rust”, Reuters and ABC News reported.
Prosecutor Mary Carmack-Altwis announced that Baldwin and Hanna Gutierrez-Reid, the film’s controversial gunman, have been charged with involuntary manslaughter more than a year after the tragic incident that occurred in October 2021 on the set near Santa Fe, New Mexico .
The U.S. Attorney’s Office also announced that David Halls, the assistant director of “Rust,” signed a plea deal to negligent use of a deadly weapon. A few days after the accident, Halls admitted that he had not checked all the bullets in the gun given to Baldwin.
