Outside objective criteria (consumption, price, habitability, performance, etc.), sometimes they flare up styleand so on driving behavior Or on homogeneity of the model. To compile this rating of the ten best new products of 2022, 30 models were initially preselected. Each journalist spoke about his ten favorite models is rated from 1 to 10 points. In the end, the ten models with the highest score were included in this ranking. So, without further ado, here goes ten the best novelties 2022!
10d – Mercedes GLC
One of the best-selling Mercedes GLCs caught the attention of our journalists and closes this year’s top ten. They appreciated its comfortable handling, the smoothness of the transmission and the sophistication it presents both inside and out. Its mechanical offering has been praised, although the PHEV versions are heavy and their boot is a bit cramped.
09d – Nissan Aria
Nissan’s first electric SUV, the Ariya, stood out with a spacious interior, sophisticated dashboard and full equipment. With a range of 481 kilometers (87 kWh battery), it is placed in a good category average. However, they regretted his clumsy behavior and lack of precision in his leadership.
08d – Kia Sportage
Kia has updated its bestseller Sportage, which has much more modern and ambitious lines. Its finishes are neat, its livability generous and its standard equipment very complete considering the prices. However, its behavior on the road is not the most dynamic, and its entry ticket remains quite high.
07d – MG 4
The MG offensive in Europe comes with the new 100% electric MG 4. His rates (almost €10,000 less than the Renault Mégane E-Tech or the Volkswagen ID3) challenge all competition, and its equipment is complete. We regret, however, that its trunk is a bit tight and the ergonomics lack simplicity.
06d – BMW X1
X1 has a new look with a new generation, more stylish and technological. Him increase in size in favor of living comfort, and modularity is well thought out in the rear seats. It demonstrates attentiveness and precise direction, which contributes to overall comfort. Its prices remain elite, especially since a lot of equipment is optional.
05d – Honda Civic e:HEV
The new Honda Civic has increased in size compared to its predecessor, which means better capacity and an increase in the trunk. The equipment is also complete and own hybrid engine demonstrates great softness, without loss of tone! We also regret its excessively high prices and its dimensions, which can interfere with traffic in the city.
04d – Kia Niro
For this new generation, the Niro continues to ride on what has become its own shock : triple motorization. Thermal, hybrid and electric! The decoration is neat, the comfort is cozy, the habitability is excellent. However, the behavior on the road is not the most dynamic, and the price/equipment ratio is conditional.
03d – Renault Austral
Renault Austral, which replaced the Kadjar, entered the TOP-3. Journalists praised its very welcoming interior, well-designed and easy-to-use digital instrument panel, and a level of modularity that will appeal to families. Its road behavior is effective, although its suspensions are too stiff. Their prices are also too high.
02d – Renault Megane E-Tech
Megane E-Tech, New 100% electric Renault model, is a contender for this rating. On board, the techno side desired by the brand is in the fully digital dashboard which is responsive, readable and well thought out. This also takes care of its finish and habitability. His behavior on the road, clear front end and precise steering are surprising. We regret certain neglected practical aspects (bench access, visibility) and its high price.
1Er – Dacia Jogger
The winner of this ranking for 2022 was the Dacia Jogger, the last truly affordable family car. Well designed and thought out, it can accommodate up to 7 people and a lot of luggage. Its presentation was neat, as was the comfort of the seats, even on long journeys. It has modern hardware and a good level of finish, despite some hard plastics. It behaves calmly on the road, and the damping is attentive. However, the overly long gearbox is a black mark, as is the chassis, which is a bit clunky.
