Sometimes you can see when the radar is flashing. But in some cases it is so discreet that you do not suspect for a second that you have been expressed. Then, a few days later, when we least expect anything, an envelope arrives in our mailbox. A very bad surprise, especially when you are absolutely sure that you have done nothing wrong. This is exactly what happened to a pensioner who is accused of breaking the speed limit, which he, however, is sure he did not commit. It could have happened on the D612 in the town of Labutari. However, this road would not pass through this town, which makes Gerard wink, 72 years old, originally from the Paris region and now living in Tarn.
Sometimes it happens that the radar highlights a speeding driver, but he does not receive a traffic ticket! https://t.co/eNzBECUAIE?utm_campaign=post-auto&utm_medium=twitter

A formal challenge
Accused of driving 94 km/h instead of 90 km/h, the pensioner does not remember this speeding. He then decides to challenge it and takes the necessary steps to do so on the ANTAI website. He then pays a deposit of €68, which he can return if the report is cancelled. But now the case is moving forward as the public prosecutor’s officer decides to refer the case to Albi Police Court. Then nothing. Until December 31. As he prepares to celebrate the New Year, Gerard receives an unpleasant visitbailiff who comes to hand him a summons to appear before the police.
A mistake, but not an indulgence
An investigation was conducted which proved that the Assistant Judicial Police Officer had indeed made a poor manipulation by entering the address. However, the description was not preserved, and a representative of the prosecutor’s office then asked a fine of 180 euros against the accused. The judge is then due to issue his decision on February 11. For his part, Gérard is concerned about this situation, telling our colleagues at La Dépêche that “ I was summoned as an accused for the first time in my life“.
An automatic speed camera on the RD 137 in St Sulpice d’Arnoult has been scaring drivers in recent days by flashing as they obeyed the speed limit!
This radar was undergoing maintenance. Therefore, there will be no verbalization. Thanks to the whistleblowers!– Gendarmerie of Primorsky Charante (@Gendarmerie_017) September 16, 2021
