The U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected a challenge by a group of New York firearms dealers against several Democratic-backed measures the state passed last year to regulate firearms purchases that they say have affected business, Reuters reported.

Justices rejected dealers’ requests to block the laws, some of which would have imposed gun safety requirements for dealers, while their appeal of a lower court’s ruling in New York’s favor ended.

The Democratic-led state legislature passed some of those laws last June.

The others were passed in July after the Supreme Court last month struck down New York’s restrictions on carrying guns outside the home in a historic ruling that expanded firearms rights.
