Veteran Italian International football player Dino Baggio gave an interview to the show “Tutti in campo” broadcast by TV7. Among others, Baggio remembered Gianluca Vialli, who had recently died after a long illness.
“I have great memories of Gianluca, he was the man in the dressing room and wanted to help the youth develop. I was on the team with him (Juventus) when I was 21 and he always had a good word for us,” he said.
However, the former defensive midfielder with a long career, including with Torino, Juventus and Lazio, expressed concern, reminding his colleagues who are no longer alive.
“We have to go back a bit to what we got in that period. We have to do a little research on the substances taken at that time. I don’t know if it’s because of this, but it could be something like that,” he said.
He added: “There has always been doping, but strange things have never been taken because there is a percentage to be withheld. But over time, we have to see if certain supplements are good.”
The 60-time international (7 goals) for the Azuru Squadron sounded the alarm: “It happens to too many players, even in the past. Those were the years when doping existed. You didn’t have strange things, you had normal things. But over time, you have to see if you can get rid of them or if they stay in your body.”
Dino Baggio also raised another parameter: “In addition, many people spoke about the grass in the fields, about products for caring for it, which caused problems. So that’s something to see too.”
