NBA: LeBron James becomes second player to break 38,000 points barrier

LeBron James became the second player in NBA history to score 38,000 points in his career, close to the record set by “legend” Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

James broke the mental barrier of 38,000 points with 35 points in Sunday’s game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Philadelphia 76ers.

It took the 38-year-old small forward just 11 points to reach 38,000 points and he is now 363 points off Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record.

His feat, however, was not enough for his team to lose the tough match 113-112.

“It’s just frustrating when you’re in these positions and you can’t win,” a frustrated James told reporters after the Lakers’ third loss in a row.

Joel Embiid led the 76ers and left the floor with 35 points and 11 rebounds, while James Harden had 24 points and 13 assists.

The Lakers protested when they weren’t called for an overtime foul, with Russell Westbrook claiming that Embiid held his hand as he tried to shoot.
