It is one of the five (excluding Mount Athos and the National Library) Greek institutions with the largest collections of antiquities, and is also the only Greek academic institution abroad.
Then the Minister of Foreign Affairs will meet with His Eminence Metropolitan of Italy and Exarch of Southern Europe Mr. Policarpo.
The visit to Venice will end with a meeting with the President and members of the Greek Orthodox Community of Venice.
The Greek Orthodox Community of Venice is the oldest Greek diaspora community in the Western world and the most historic community of Greeks, with an uninterrupted presence and activity for five centuries.
After that, Mr. Dendias will travel to Agios Marino, where he will hold meetings with senior officials. This is the first visit of a Greek foreign minister to San Marino.

The aforementioned talks in San Marino will be dedicated to further strengthening bilateral relations in all areas in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding for political consultations, which the Foreign Ministers of the two countries signed in December 2021 (on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial Summit in Stockholm) in cooperation within the framework of international organizations, in EU-Agios Marino relations, as well as in regional and international events, the Greek Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
