Salernitana are looking for a new coach after the sacking of Davide Nicolas following a humiliating 8-2 defeat to Atalanta, writes Goal.com.

In the pole position is the coach of “Rapid” Adrian Mutu, a former striker of “Parma”, “Fiorentina” and “Juventus”.

The Serie A club’s roster also includes Walter Mazzarri, Eusebio Di Francesco and Leonardo Semplici, all currently out of action.

Adrian Mutu played for 11 years in the Italian championship for Inter Milan, Hellas Verona, Parma, Juventus, Fiorentina and Cesena. He has 271 matches and 103 goals scored. The former Romanian player has repeatedly stated that he dreams of coaching Fiorentina.

After 18 rounds, Salernitana is in 16th place in Serie A with 18 points.
