Will it start again? We remember that in October of last year, a strike organized by the CGT at TotalEnergie’s warehouses and oil refineries caused a huge shortage of fuel. Drivers were forced to queue sometimes for several hours in front of service stations or even on motorways, in some cases putting their lives at risk. It was a very difficult period for everyone, which lasted about a month and which greatly affected the lives of the French. Indeed, many workers need their car every day, not to mention transport professionals, are also forced to slow down their activities. And unfortunately, it may start again in the coming days.

Prudent motorists

Indeed, from next January 19Several trade unions have planned a new strike to protest the pension reform introduced by the government. Thus, the program includes the shutdown of oil refineries, which should directly affect the supply of gasoline and diesel at gas stations. Moreover, other movements are planned, including one renewed strike next February And this inevitably worries motorists, many of whom take precautions and go to refuel. And that’s even if the government urges them not to panic, saying that “no refinery is on strike“.

There is already a shortage

The risk of this practice? Create a scarcity that would not otherwise exist. Indeed, some gas station already dry, they were occupied by worried motorists. The latter do not want to get confused and endure the same troubles as in October last year. The manager still wants to reassure, claiming that ” people tend to rush, and it can create gaps here and there, but the replenishment will be done on Monday“. He also explains that a several-day strike will not necessarily be very visible on the shares.
