“Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, a meeting of the Governmental National Security Council (GNCSC) was held today at the Maksimos Palace with the aim of extending the term of office of the Chief of the General Staff of National Defense (GESTA) and electing new Chiefs of the General Staff of the Land Forces (GSS) and the General Staff of the Navy ( GENE).

It was unanimously decided:

1. Extension for another year of the term of office of the head of the Main Directorate of the Defense Forces, General Konstantinos Floros.

2. Election of Lieutenant General (PZ) Angelos Khudeloudis to the position of head of the HPP.

3. Election of Vice-Admiral Ioannis Drimusis P.N. as Chief of the General Staff.

The retiring chiefs of GES and GEN, Lieutenant General Charalambos Lalouzis and Vice Admiral Stylianos Petrakis P.N., who have received the rank of general and admiral of eea, receive the honorary titles of chief of GES and GEN, respectively.”
