
Firefighters from the municipality of Arad intervened on Sunday evening at the district hospital, where smoke was emitted from a lighting device that overheated in the hall of the hematology department. It was not necessary to evacuate people from the medical block, News.ro reports.
“This evening, around 6:45 p.m., the military firefighters of the Arad detachment received a request to intervene in the event of smoke emission at the salon level of the hematology department of the Arad district hospital. The forces and means of the Arad fire department with two vehicles for working with water and foam, an evacuation vehicle and a SMURD crew of 13 non-commissioned officers were used to carry out the mission,” ISU Arad reported.
Upon the arrival of the rescuers, it was established that the smoke was coming from an overheated lighting device in the cabin.
“Firefighters ventilated the premises and eliminated the possible danger. Four patients from the salon safely self-evacuated, and later they were transferred to another salon. The evacuation of other people to the hospital was not necessary,” ISU Arad also said.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
