Tennis player Samantha Stosur has announced her retirement after taking part in the 2023 Australian Open. At the age of 38, the Australian won the US Open in 2011.

Samantha Stosur will end her career after the Australian Open

In a post on social networks, Stosur, who is ranked 531 in the WTA rankings, decided to announce to her fans that she is ending her career.

“I’m excited to be back at Melbourne Park and take part in the 21st Australian Open, but also with mixed feelings that this will be my last tournament.

I am happy and grateful for the opportunity to finish at my favorite tournament, my home, in front of my fans, friends and family,” said the Australian.

In 2011, Samantha Stosur defeated Serena Williams in the US Open final.
