The 14-second video leaves no room for much comment, showing how a Russian soldier tried to build something like a makeshift garden in the middle of low vegetation.

It is not clear what happened next, or whether Ukrainian drone operators fired a grenade at the man, as has happened in other similar situations, and the footage was cut to avoid showing a moment that might shock some commentators.

Another video, which appeared on social networks back in November of last year, shows how part of the Russian military tried to escape from the cold by digging holes in the ground and building improvised positions where the Ukrainians launched grenades from a drone.

The technique of launching hand grenades from small commercial drones has been perfected by the Ukrainian military in the months since the beginning of the Russian invasion on February 24, including against tanks of the invading forces.

The Russian military complains about the conditions at the front and the equipment received

Russian conscripts who joined the army after September 21, when President Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization decree, have posted numerous videos on social media, still available in Russia, in which they complain about the equipment they receive, the training , which they undergo, or the conditions in which they are home

In some of the recordings, they also charge that they were not given the money promised by the authorities during the announcement of mobilization or voluntary registration by September 21.

Among them, soldiers from Bashkiria, one of the poorest regions of Russia, told how they were sent into battle to die on their heads with poor-quality equipment.

This week, Russian President Vladimir Putin reiterated assurances that all problems related to the equipment of Russian soldiers would be resolved, after numerous reported deficiencies drew criticism in Russia.

In this sense, on December 26, Putin appointed Dmytro Medvedev, one of the most active supporters of the war in Ukraine, to the position of first deputy of the Military-Industrial Commission, a permanent body created “for the organization of state policy in the field of the military-industrial complex, military-technical support of defense, national security and law enforcement agencies”.

The head of the commission is Putin himself, which also includes Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu, Chief of the General Staff General Valery Gerasimov, Secretary of the Security Council Mykola Patrushev, heads of the Foreign Intelligence Service, FSB, National Guard and others.
