Video from the eastern Ukrainian city of Soledar on Friday shows a powerful explosion in a building that appears to have been a shelter for Russian troops, CNN reports.

The video shows about 20 soldiers walking along the railway before turning onto a street on the northern outskirts of the city.

When they reach a building with a distinctive green roof, an explosion destroys the building, sending pieces flying in all directions.

The video was geolocated by CNN. An extended version of the video was published by a Ukrainian military officer in the area.

The military callsign Madyar is the commander of the Ukrainian air reconnaissance unit.

He comments on the video: “There are 10 of them. There are 10 more here. And they are all obviously going in the same direction. It is installed. There are more than 20 people in groups. In the houses. On the outskirts of Soledar.”

“I was watching the place this morning,” he says. “There was some activity there. Something was being loaded and unloaded.”

He describes the green-roofed building as “a sort of headquarters for them.”

Madyar says there should be at least 25 Russian soldiers there.

Then he asks, “What should we do? HIMARS or MLRS?” before the explosion is visible.
