
Belinda Bencic won her sixth career WTA title after defeating Daria Kasatkina in the Adelaide 2 final on Saturday.

The Olympic champion in Tokyo Bencic outplayed her opponent and won the trophy after only 68 minutes of play with a score of 6-0, 6-2.
Belinda (WTA 13) and Daria (WTA 8) advanced to the final act of the WTA 500 competition after their semi-final opponents encountered medical problems and had to withdraw.

- At the competition in Adelaide, Bencic also defeated Garbiñe Muguruza (58 WTA), Anna Kalinska (64 WTA) and Caroline Garcia (4 WTA).
- Belinda also holds titles in Toronto, Eastbourne (2015), Moscow, Dubai (2019), Tokyo Olympics (2021) and Charleston (2022).
- In the first round of the Australian Open-2023, Bencic will meet Victoria Tomova (91 WTA), and Kasatkina will meet Varvara Grachova (98 WTA).
The WTA Adelaide 2 tournament was held from January 9 to 14 on hard, was part of the WTA 500 category and offered a total of $780,637 in prize money.
