Petra Kvitova and Beatrice Haddad Maia were defeated in the quarters of WTA Adelaide 2
The No. 12 seed in Adelaide, Kvitova lost the match in straight sets 6-3, 7-6(3). The match lasted one hour and 34 minutes.
In another match, favorites Paula Bados (9th seed) overcame Beatrice Haddad Maia (11th seed) in a close match. It was 7-6(5), 7-5 for the Spaniard at the end of a tense match that lasted two hours and 35 minutes.
