Real Madrid reached the final of the Spanish Super Cup after a dramatic 4-3 victory over Valencia on penalties (1-1 after 90 and 120 minutes) at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Real Madrid, victory on penalties against Valencia

Real Madrid (champion of Spain) opened the score with Benzema (’39, penalty), but Valencia (finalist of the Spanish Cup) equalized with Lino (’46).

In the shootout, Carlo Ancelotti’s side scored through Benzema, Modric, Kroos and Asensio, while Gennaro Gattuso’s side scored through Cavani, Moriba and Guilliamont (Comert and Gaia missed).

  • For the big trophy, Real Madrid will play the winner of the match between Betis Sevilla (Cup winner) and Barcelona (2nd place in the last season of LaLiga).
