The new year 2023 is an opportunity for car manufacturers to take stock of their global sales for the past year. On the side of the house mercedesregistered by a German company delivery of 2,043,900 cars for the whole of 2022 – slightly less by 1% compared to 2021 (2,055,000 units).

Electrified vehicles (battery hybrids and 100% electric) totaled 319,200 units, up 19%, with a 15% share of sales. Deliveries of 100% electric vehicles more than doubled (+124%), from 52,500 to 117,800 units in 2022.

Mercedes: sales by regions of the world

In particular, Mercedes registered 635,100 deliveries of its cars in Europe in 2022 – slightly 1% more than in 2021 (631,800 copies). In this region, Germany is the most important market for the brand with 229,500 deliveries in 2022, which is 8% more than the previous year.

The German manufacturer also recorded 987,800 deliveries of its cars in of Asia in 2022 – slightly more by 1% compared to 2021 (976,100 copies). In this region, China is the most important market for the brand with 751,700 shipments in 2022, down 1% from the previous year.

Mercedes: international success

Mercedes also recorded 327,000 deliveries of its cars North America in 2022 – slightly more by 3% compared to 2021 (318,500 copies). In this region, the United States is the most important market for the brand, with 286,800 deliveries in 2022, up 4% from the previous year.

IN the rest of the worldThe Stuttgart firm recorded 94,000 deliveries of its cars in 2022, which is 27% less than in 2021 (128,700 units).

Mercedes: a wide and successful range

“Mercedes” offers a wide range of vehicles, with cars fromentry level which sold 587,700 units in 2022: in this segment, the Mercedes EQA is the best-selling 100% electric model with 33,100 units, followed by the EQB with 24,200 units.

Models medium range are the most popular among Mercedes customers, with 1,101,800 units delivered. In this segment, the Mercedes GLC became the brand’s bestseller in 2022 with 342,900 units (+3%). C-class deliveries increased by 17% and reached 299,100 units. The 100% electric Mercedes EQE was delivered 12,600 times in 2022.

The the most luxurious models are signed by Mercedes-Maybach achieved its best ever commercial year with 21,600 units delivered (+37%), with strong performances in Japan, Korea, the Middle East and China, where Maybach models sell more than 1,100 units per month.
